The Carers is a Commonwealth Government Home Care Package Approved Provider and meets the national Home Care Common Standards and the Home and Community Care (HACC) Standards. The Carers is a provider to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and as such meets their standards in providing home care services to our veteran community through the Veterans Home Care program.

Certified Staff

To reassure and ensure you are comfortable with who is coming into your home, all our home care staff have the required certification and skills to deliver the specific home care services to meet each individual client’s needs.

Before commencing work with The Carers all our home care staff are required to have:

• A current National Police Clearance,
• 2 verbal reference checks
• Current drivers licences
• Current car registration and insurance

All home care staff providing services other than domestic assistance have:

• A Certificate 3 qualification or equivalent,
• Current Senior 1st Aid,
• CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).

All our home care staff documentation is accurately maintained to ensure currency and competency on an on-going basis, so you can be reassured you have a home care service providing home care staff that you can trust.

We Are Committed

The Carers is committed to providing annual and on-going training to all our home care staff to ensure they meet the national standards. We work with and support our home care staff to ensure they assist and support each client to meet the outcomes as defined on each individual’s home care plan.

All home care staff are required to complete as a minimum our annual compulsory training in :

• Manual Handling
• Infection Control
• Occupational Safety and Health(OSH)

In conjunction with this annual training, Certificate 3 home care staff are required maintaining or achieve competencies in other skills related to delivery of specific home care services.

Our office staff are experienced in providing home care services and work together with our home care staff to deliver the best outcomes for our clients and their families.
